The YSL Le Teint Touché Éclat foundation review

Hello Readers,

Today, I bring you a review of a foundation that I purchased a couple of months back. I would begin my saying, that I was drawn to this product because of its packaging and obviously the brand name. For those who may not know, YSL stands for Yves Saint Laurent , a French designer who established a luxury fashion house, a brand that is into everything and anything fashion, beauty and skin care related.

I must say, this foundation packaging is one of the most appealing, I have come across. Its retail price is in the neighbourhood of £27 to £30, (its definitely one of those figures).
Honestly, I wasn’t really feeling this foundation when I started using it. To begin with, I found it difficult to get a suitable shade for my skin tone. I was torn between getting a BD70 and a B70; I later went for the B70, because the former made my face look quite red. In that light, I would say that, more shades need to be developed especially for brown skin tones.

However like I said, I still did not find satisfaction with the B70, as it had this chalky-looking finish on me. The product is a bit too liquid and does not have that much consistency and continuity (if that makes any sense) In other words, it has a coarser than silky texture, you can discover that if you try using your hands to apply the product rather than a brush. I guess that explains why it is not so oily, which in my opinion, is a plus for the product, with the exception of the textural issues of course.
As a result of the chalkiness, I decided to try it out as a highlighter and believe me, it is better off for that purpose especially on the under eye, as it is a bit watery, and  creates a smooth surface for the highlight setting powder. It works quite well with the much talked-about Ben Nye Luxury Banana powder and I don’t use it as a foundation anymore.
I am not suggesting in anyway that this product is bad, this is just my experience and at least, I found a better use for it. The experience could be different for you. There is no harm in trying out new products, if you can do that at your disposal; I guess that’s the fun bit in the Beauty and Make-up world, the potential for creating a collection. I am sure you make-up addicts and artists know what I mean.
I hope you found this useful. I would like to read about your experiences, if you’ve tried this product.

The NARS pure radiant tinted moisturizer review

Hello people and happy holidays…………..
I am coming at you today, with a review on a product, I have been using for some months now and as the title suggests it is a tinted moisturizer by NARS. It was my very first time of trying out a tinted moisturizer and I decided to go for NARS, as I did not have any of their products by in my make-up collection and I had also been hearing a lot of good stuff about them.  I am so obsessed with make-up, that I love to stock up and collect as many brands as I can, especially when it comes to foundations, concealers and primers.

I would begin by saying that, when I started using this product, I literally stopped using foundations, I could count the number of times I used foundations. I initially wanted the tinted moisturizer for my daily make-up, to keep it toned down and leave the foundations for special occasions. But even in those occasions, I found myself reaching out for this product.

Apart from containing SPF 30/ PA+++, which protects and promotes hydration for the skin, being lightweight and having a silky sheer feel, it always looks like, I have a foundation on and when I tell people its not, they get amazed… I am in the shade Martinique (Medium/Dark3)

Top: Jasper Conran at Debenhams (Old)

I don’t know if the product would create a good coverage for every skin type and texture, but it does for me. I have a combination type skin and you can spot tiny pores and blackheads, if you take a very close look at my face. But this baby covers it all up, leaving me with a sheer naturally glowing finish. “It sure is purely radiant”
But then, I get quite oily when I use it.........this may not be the case for everybody, as my T zone and nose are quite oily, naturally. It is not a big deal for me, because I have become accustomed to carrying blotting papers and powders every where I go. I also think its quite pricy (£27), for a tinted moisturiser, but I would sincerely say that, it is worth the price.
So divas, consider Making up your mind with Francois Nars
